December exams have come and gone, but wagging tails (thank goodness!) go on and on.
So many of us enjoyed the visit from Strong P.E.T.S. (Pets Engaged in Therapeutic Socialization) on December 11, we asked Ann Lacey and her Friends of Strong colleagues about adding Miner Library to their list of “regulars.”
We’re happy to say that Ann’s response was, “Yes.” (I’m pretty sure I heard some enthusiastic barking in the background, too!)
On Wednesday, January 16, Strong P.E.T.S. will stop by @ 3:30 p.m., after their “rounds” on the patient units. Thereafter, Strong P.E.T.S. will visit us once a month, alternating between second and third Wednesdays.
Got a few minutes? Stop by for a big dose of fun!
Pet therapist Ann Lacey has been a therapy dog handler since 1982 and founded the Strong P.E.T.S. program at Strong Memorial Hospital in 2000. For more information about Strong P.E.T.S., Campus Canines, or Tales for Tails programs, visit URMC Today or contact Friends of Strong at (585) 275-2420.
