Senior EndNote Trainer Donna Kirking from Thomson Reuters will visit URMC on Thursday, April 4 to teach two free classes: EndNote Web for EndNote Users and Advanced EndNote: Tips & Tricks.
These are one-time only classes open on a first-come, first-served basis. EndNote Web is scheduled for 9:30 am – 11:30 am and Advanced EndNote is noon – 1:30 pm on Thursday, April 4. Both classes will be held in the Nesbit Classroom (G-7545) on the Ground Floor.
To reserve your place in one or both of the classes, or for more information, please call or email Linda Hasman at 275-3399 (Linda_Hasman@urmc.rochester.edu) or Valorie Hallinan at 275-6873 (Valorie_Hallinan@urmc.rochester.edu)
You’ll find the EndNote Web for EndNote Users class beneficial if you’ve been using the desktop version of EndNote and would like to use EndNote Web to collaborate and access your EndNote library when you’re away from your own computer. The class will include:
- Creating an EndNote Web account
- Transferring references between EndNote and EndNote web libraries
- Online search and direct export in EndNote Web
- Importing text files
- The EndNote Web plug-in and using the Capture button
- Creating and managing groups
- Using Cite While You Write
If you’ve been using EndNote for a while, Advanced EndNote: Tips & Tricks will take your skills to the next level. The class will cover commonly requested advanced features such as editing styles, customizing reference types, and creating custom term lists to integrate with customized or existing references types. There will be a question-and-answer session at the end.
Please note: These classes will NOT be held in Miner Library. They will be in the Nesbit Classroom (G-7545) on the Ground Floor. (Take the Yellow Elevators to the ground floor, then head toward the Student Services Center. Turn right at the Student Services Center, then take the first left toward the Ambulatory Clerkship Office. You’ll see a directional sign on the wall with an arrow pointing to E.G. Miner Classroom 2. Go to the end of the hall; the classroom is the last room on the left.)
Just a reminder, Miner librarians Linda Hasman and Valorie Hallinan are available to schedule custom EndNote classes and one-on-one EndNote sessions at your convenience, and you can register for our EndNote Basics classes here.
