Beginning on June 25, 2009, University of Rochester faculty, employees, residents and students will be able to use their UR NetID or Medical Center Active Directory account (URMC network and e-mail login) to access Miner Library’s electronic journals, books and databases when off-campus. The Miner-issued user names and passwords will be retired. We are making this change to help reduce the number of user names and passwords that you need to do your daily work. If you use VPN to access Miner’s electronic resources, this change will not affect you.
Publisher contracts allow only current UR faculty, employees, residents and students to access Miner’s electronic resources. If you are a current UR faculty member, employee or resident and do not have a NetID or Active Directory account, contact the administrator of your University of Rochester department to have an account set up.
The change will not affect students who access Miner Library resources through the Blackboard student portal. All UR students also have a NetID. Online help with NetIDs is available at http://www.rochester.edu/its/netid/. Visiting students without a NetID or Active Directory account should contact their student affairs office.
Please send any questions to MinerAccounts@urmc.rochester.edu or call Miner’s Computing Center Help Desk at 585-275-6865.
