The Genetics/Genomics Competency Center (G2C2) is a free, Web-based collection of materials on genetics and genomics designed for educators who train nurses and physician assistants.
Educators can use the Genetics/Genomics Competency Center to find and download materials for use in their classrooms. They also can share their favorite genomic and genetic teaching resources and materials with other educators by uploading material, which is regularly reviewed by the center’s editorial board to ensure quality control.
From the website: “The goal of this Genetics/Genomics Competency Center is to provide healthcare professionals with a learning management system, based on a core set of competencies that organizes genetic/genomic educational materials, and streamlines and facilitates standardized curriculum development. Further, this type of learning management system might be used to enhance efforts to develop trans-disciplinary approaches to genetics/genomics education. The nursing and physician assistant education communities have worked together to create this web-based repository which serves as a model for genetics/genomics education for the broader health care community.”
