These are only a few of the words that describe the art displayed in this exhibit, created by 20 different artists from the pARTners Art Mentoring Program. The images are on display in Miner Library until October 30; the event is free and open to the public.
Founded in 2008, pARTners is a program of Heritage Christian Services (HCS). The goal of pARTners is to provide artists with developmental disabilities access to mentoring by professional artists in the Rochester region. The art partners worked together in the studio at the Pieters Family Life Center for weekly 90-minute sessions for six weeks, exploring various media, including photography, oil, water colors, and mixed media.
For the students, the program enhances their skills and fosters inclusion in a greater artistic community. For the art professionals, pARTners is an opportunity to share knowledge and gain understanding of artists with developmental disabilities and their capabilities.

pARTners was generously supported for the first two years by the Nelson B. Delavan Foundation and in 2010 by the Rochester Area Community Foundation.
