We have a winner!

Congratulations to Judy Marshall (Graduate Medical Education) who correctly guessed the answer to our first “What in the World?” contest. (See March 4 posting.)  Judy received a prize from Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters for her mental dexterity and keen imagination.

The items are known as scarificators. They were commonly used by physicians in the late 18th and early 19th centuries to bleed their patients.
