From the faculty and staff of Edward G. Miner Library… WELCOME! We look forward to meeting you later this week during orientation.
You know, Miner Library is so much more than a pretty website and a group of awesome, helpful staff. But it’s the beginning of the academic year and you’ve got a lot on your mind, so we’re just going to highlight a couple services that’ll make your lives easier right now. Then, when you’re ready for more, we’ll be here!
Contact us by phone (275-2487 or just 5-2487 from a house phone), by visiting the Answer Desk (M-F, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) (our land location is room 1-6221), or by using the “Ask a Librarian” link on our website.
Miner Library Online is your gateway to dozens of online research and clinical tools, nearly 300 health-related e-books, and over 25,000 e-journals.
You don’t need a password to access our e-resources at URMC. From other locations, just use your NetID or Active Directory (URMC network/email login) credentials. Here’s a small sampling of our online resources:
♦ PubMed@UR – Customized version of the world’s leading index for biomedical journal articles, with links to UR libraries’ e-journal.
♦ Web of Science – Database of journal articles and conference proceedings in the science and social science fields. Special features include cited reference searching and personal citation reports.
♦ Current Protocols – Collections of research protocols in the fields of cell biology, human genetics, immunology, molecular biology, and neuroscience.
♦ IPA, Partek and VectorNTI® – Programs that analyze genomic datasets.
And there are lots of ways to stay in touch with the latest information updates from Miner Library, like:
See you soon!
