September 17 & 18: NCBI Discovery Workshops

Miner Library will host a series of NCBI Discovery Workshops on September 17 – 18, 2012, and registration for these free workshops is now open.

This is a fabulous opportunity to learn more about some of NCBI’s most popular tools. The sessions, taught by Dr. Peter Cooper from NCBI, are hands-on, with detailed handouts. There will be four sessions over two days; you can attend any combination of them. The workshops are open to all URMC faculty, staff, and students.

September 17, 2012:

Sequences, Genomes & Maps  9 am – 11:30 am, Auditorium K-307 (3-6408)

Proteins, Domains & Structures  1 pm – 3:30 pm, Auditorium K-307 (3-6408)

September 18, 2012:

NCBI BLAST Services  9 am – 11:30 am, Ryan Case Method Room (1-9576)

Human Variation and Disease Genes  1 pm – 3:30 pm, Whipple Auditorium (2-6424)

Bring your laptop. Each day there will be times reserved for optional individual consultations with the instructor.
