8/29 at High Noon “4 Walls: One Family’s Story of Volunteering in Nicaragua”

Join us for Miner Library’s August 29 High Noon Presentation!

Volunteers buidling houseVolunteering in a developing country can be a family affair. Miner Education & Reference Librarian Valorie Hallinan and her family wanted to visit a new place (and step out of their comfort zone) while making a contribution. They did just that through 4 Walls, a Rochester-based, grassroots non-profit dedicated to improving the homes and living standards of Nicaraguan families.

Please join us on Wednesday, August 29 at noon in Miner’s History of Medicine Room. Valorie will share stories about house-building side-by-side with Nicaraguan families in El Sauce (a Rochester Sister City). You’ll have the opportunity to meet 4 Walls Co-Founder Bonnie Yannie and other 4 Walls volunteers.

Everyone is welcome. Bring your colleagues, bring your friends, and bring your lunch to this free event!

For more information, contact Valorie Hallinan at 275-6873 or valorie_hallinan@urmc.rochester.edu.
