Julie Sollenberger received two prestigious awards at the recent Medical Library Association (MLA) annual meeting in Chicago, May 16-21. One of the awards was the Ida and George Eliot Prize which is given annually by the MLA for a work published in the preceding calendar year which has been judged most effective in furthering medical librarianship. The second award was the Professional Recognition Award for Leadership, which was presented by the MLA Hospital Libraries Section.
Both awards recognize Julie’s published works relating to a large multisite research study on the value of libraries. Her work included a Journal of the American Medical Association article [2013;310(12):1231-2], co-authored by Robert Holloway, MD, MPH, Chair of Neurology, entitled “The Evolving Role and Value of Libraries and Librarians in Health Care.”
Congratulations to Julie on both of these awards!
