Do you want to publish a paper about your clinical trial in a medical journal? Yes? Then you might want to pay attention to this.
The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) wants to put some new recommendations into place about sharing data from clinical trials, including:
♦ Submitting detailed plans for sharing this data at the time the trial is registered.
♦ Sharing the data – including de-identified participant data – within 6 months of publication of the article.
♦ Incorporating a description of the data sharing plan in the manuscript you submit to an ICMJE journal.
Wondering which journals follow the ICMJE recommendations? You can see the list here.
Would you like to provide ICMJE with feedback on the proposed requirements? Comments are due by April 18. Add your comment by using this form.
